Park Brims began in the 1970s.
The Harvard Park Brims mindsets was on survival from the mid-to-late 70s to the present day, due to being beside crips on all four sides, the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips in the west, the 67 Neighbor Hood Crips to the south, the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips to the north and the 59 Hoover Criminals Gang to the east, between Slauson Avenue in the north to 64th Street in the south. Because of their significantly lower numbers, they were very sparsely distributed amongst their turf. Most of the members of the Harvard Park Brims originate from Augustus High School. The school acts as an enabler in many senses, since it unites youth who are all from the same neighborhoods. Inevitably, through peer pressure, more and more people get pushed into the set.
The Harvard Park Brims have an unofficial truce with their former rivals the 59 Hoover Criminals Gang due to their shared hatred of the Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips. Other rivials included are the Rollin 30s Harlem Crips, Rollin 40s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips, the West Boulevard Crips, 65 Menlo Crips, the 6 Pacc East Coast Crips, the 46 Neighbor Hood Crips, 48 Neighbor Hood Crips, 67 Neighbor Hood Crips, School Yard Crips, all Hoover Criminals, all Trouble Gangster Crips, all Neighbor Hood Crips and the Hispanic 18th Street Gang.
